This is the first season premiere that was not Jack-centric. It’s also the first season premiere that didn’t open with a shot of someone’s eye.

This episode introduces yet another “flash-forward”. This marks the 2nd episode so far to have a flash-forward. The first was the season 3 finale: “Through the looking Glass”

A Hurley-centric episode. It’s actually partly Jack-centric too as the scene near the start when he’s watching the chase on TV is completely from his perspective.

The title references Ben’s line in the season three finale. He says to Jack, “Making that call is the beginning of the end.”
