After reading a huge thread at Lost Forum about Miles’ flash back, I thought it only right I write about it here. This contains major easter eggs, and major theories ;)

So, in Miles’ flash back he is seen going to a womans house, to send the ghost of her grandon on his way.

Before entering her grandons bedroom the camera clearly focuses on the photographs on the wall. I personally thought at the time that they focused on them because it was supposed to be someone we know (I initially thought it was Yemi). But I think they focused on it for an entirely different reason…

This is the scene before he goes to the bedroom:

When he comes back down the camera focuses on the photos again:

Notice anything different? The FRAMES have changed!

Now why could this happen? The Lost writers obviously have something up their sleeve to focus on something that we’re obviously meant to see.

Apparantly, this day is the day when Desmond turned the fail safe key and the sky turned purple. We all know that Desmond went back in time when he did this, so could his venture have changed the future? Could the time of him turning the fail safe be the same time of Miles being in the grandsons bedroom - therefore creating a slight change to what has happened in the past?

I’ve read theories saying that when Desmond turned the fail safe key he changed the fate of Flight 815 - meaning that instead of Flight 815 crashing on the Island, it landed in the Ocean. This could be possible, but I think the time of Desmond turning the key was when Miles was in the grandons bedroom - and by that time Flight 815 had already been “discovered”.

I also find it suspicious that Naomi asked Matthew Abaddon “What if I find survivors of Flight 815?” - I don’t think she would have asked that if the wreckage they did find was real because she wouldn’t have any reason to question it. It seems to me the wreckage is fake and she knew alot more than she led on. And Matthew Abaddon certainly seems to know alot more than we do.

So my conclusion is: Desmond did make slight changes to the past BUT I don’t think he created two different timelines.

I guess we’ll find out in 2010 ;)

    Nice catch -
I’ve got a theory that the island is actually inside a kind of worm-hole, or bent Einstein-Minkowski spacetime.

When Desmond released all that electromagnetic energy, he may have sent all of the island inhabitants (the ones affected by the “purple sky” - which was caused by the benfing of the light itself) through that wormhole to an alternate reality - one where Flight 815 crashed, and the pictures on the wall are different, etc.

Hi Peter - thanks for your reply :)

That is a great theory, and one that I’ve read about from other Lost enthusiasts, but personally I don’t buy the two different realities. I do think that the wreckage that was discovered is fake.

You never know with Lost though, anything can happen! So that theory isn’t being ruled out just yet! :)
