Comparing Notes : Comparing what really happened with my predictions on LOST
Written by admin on June 1, 2008A couple of days ago I wrote a post with my predictions on where everyone will be by the end of Season Four. I’m now going to compare what I wrote with what really happened… and boy, was I wrong! ;)
Sawyer
I think Sawyer chose to stay because he became a different man on the Island. Far from the insensitive con-man he was back in Season One, Sawyer seems to be compassionate now and cares for other people. I also think that he chose to stay to keep looking for Claire. He doesn’t know if she’s dead or alive, and until he finds her (or her body) I don’t think he’s going to give up.
Ok, so it looks like Sawyer wasn’t given a choice at all. He just dove out the helicopter and back to the Island expecting someone to come back for him eventually. Little did he know what would happen to the Island and Freighter. Poor thing. At least we know he’s alive and well (I hope!)
Locke
I think Locke will suffer some serious consequences of The Orchid and doubt that he’d even know about anyone being rescued, or given the choice. I think he will succeed in moving the Island but to what consequences I’m not sure yet. Maybe the Island suffers a time distortion and Locke is left without the use of his legs again. Although I’m not in favour of that as that has been speculated throughout the whole course of LOST and don’t think the writers will go down that route.
Hmm wrong again. Locke didn’t even move the Island and he became the new leader of the Others. Although it’s a sad state he ends up in at the very last minute - BUT we know that isn’t the end of Locke and I’m sure Season 5 will show us the events leading up to that point.
Desmond
Ohhh it doesn’t look so good for Desmond at this current moment, being on the bomb-filled freighter and all. I really have a bad feeling that he is going to his demise which I really don’t want to happen as Desmond is one of my favourite characters. I just feel that the whole Desmond&Penny phone conversation was the end of their storyline and I wouldn’t be surprised if we had to say bye-bye to Des (I hope I’m wrong!).
Wrong again! But I am so happy to be wrong! You wouldn’t believe how relieved I was when I saw Desmond get on the helicopter! Although it was touch and go when they were in the water, but luckily he survived! And Desmond and Penny were reunited at last awww :)
Rose and Bernard
Rose wanted to stay on the Island because it had cured her cancer, but at the end of Season 3 she seemed like she wanted to be rescued. That being said, I think they are both alive and well on the Island, I just think that they weren’t given a choice whether or not to stay.
Ok, so nobody was given a choice whether or not to stay so this prediction and the others are pretty much off-track now. But hey, they were on the Island at the end of Season 4 :)
Ben
I think the ending of the finale episode will be Ben looking for a way out of being captured by Keamy and co. and it will end in such a way that we’ll be thinking “Will he escape? Won’t he escape?” until the beginning of Season 5.
Nope, wrong again! Ben was the one who moved the Island and in turn looks like he landed in Tunisia because of it (beginning of The Shape of Things to Come). Apparantly the person who moves the Island cannot return to it - so what will Ben do now?
Claire
I’m hoping we will see more of Claire in this episode and find out why she has left Aaron to join Christian. I think she will more than likely still be with Christian by the end of the episode.
We didn’t see much of Claire in this episode other than in Kate’s “dream”, so I’m assuming she’s still with Christian in Jacobs cabin.
Richard Alpert and the Others
One thing I know for sure is that they can’t kill of Richard Alpert - they just can’t! He is integral to the show and we have so much more to find out about him. I think he and the Others will be safe at the Temple at the end of the episode (or maybe some of the Others get killed in the process?).
Ahh good old Richard and the Others kicking thoses freighties asses! ;) I don’t know if they were at the Temple but I know they were all safe by the end of the episode - and looking forward to having Locke as their leader.
Juliet, Jin and other Losties
Juliet has been counting the days until she could go home, so I don’t think she’d pass up the chance. Jin wouldn’t want to leave his pregnant wife alone. I think that Juliet, Jin and the rest of the Losties had no choice in the matter. They had to stay on the Island and that’s that.
I was right when it came to Juliet and the other Losties - there was no choice given in being resued or not and now they’re stuck on the Island. However, I was so wrong about Jin!!! I didn’t expect Jin to die on the freighter as I honestly thought he’d still be alive and that’d be Suns motivation for trying to find the Island. But I guess we’ll never know for sure until Season 5!
