This Place is Death

CHARLOTTE: I grew up here…on the island. And there was this thing…this… Dharma Initiative. And then…I moved away with my mum. Just my mum…and…I never saw my dad again. And then when I got back to England, I would…I would…ask my mum about this place, yeah? But she would say that it wasn’t real…and that I’d made it up. That’s why… I became an anthropologist. To find this island again. It’s what…I’ve been searching for my whole life.

DANIEL: Charlotte…why are you telling me this?

CHARLOTTE: Because I remember something now. When I was little, living here, there was this man… a crazy man, he really scared me. And he told me that I had to leave the island and never ever come back. He told me that if I came back I would die.

DANIEL: Charlotte, I don’t understand.

CHARLOTTE: Daniel – I think that man was you.

Wow. Just Wow. Lost never ceases to amaze me and that quote right there was probably one of the most chilling and eye-opening scenes of the show so far. We knew that Daniel has communicated with Desmond and so knew it was a possibility he could interact with other people in the past, but to what extreme he would take that to we didn’t know - so when this scene played out queue draw-dropping mouths everywhere. :O

The Little Prince - Lost Season 5 Episode 4 Review

The Little Prince

JULIET: Did you know that this would happen?

FARADAY: I thought… I thought it might. I think it’s neurological. Our brains have an internal clock, a sense of time. The flashes… throw the clock off. It’s like really bad jet lag.

JULIET: Really bad jet lag doesn’t make you hemorrhage, Daniel. You wanna tell me why it isn’t happening to the rest of us?

FARADAY: I don’t know. But thank God it’s not.

I think Daniel spoke too soon - just as we were beginning to think that it was happening to Charlotte because she was born on the island, Miles starts suffering with the nose bleeds. Ok, so that could still mean that it’s a side effect of being born on the island, afterall it has been speculated everywhere that Miles is the son of Pierre Chang. Just as were getting used to that idea, Juliet starts with the nose bleeds!

Jughead

LOCKE: All right. All right. What year is it right now?

RICHARD: It’s 1954.

LOCKE: All right. May 30, 1956–2 years from now–that’s the day I’m born–Tustin, California, and if you don’t believe me, I suggest you come and visit me.

At last, an explaination as to why Richard went to visit Locke when he was first born. As Locke said this I couldn’t help but feel excited - at last, we’re getting somewhere! But this meeting opens up another set of questions.

The Lie - Lost Season 5 Episode 2 Review

The Lie

When I saw the previews for Season 5 and saw the “mystery hooded person” I always had an incline that’d it be Ms. Hawking, but I still felt an element of surprise when it was revealed to be her.

She is seen in a room writing calculations on a black board, and inputting data onto a computer, with a weird pendulum swinging to and fro in the middle of the room. The computer reads “EVENT WINDOW DETERMINED” and then she goes to speak with none other than our beloved Ben.

Because You Left - Lost Season 5 Episode 1 Review

Because You Left

FARADAY: The Island… (sighs) think of the Island like a record spinning on a turntable… only now, that record is skipping. Whatever Ben Linus did down at the Orchid station… I think… it may have… dislodged us.

MILES: Dislodged us from what?

FARADAY: Time.

Just when you’ve spent the entire break from Season 4 to Season 5 theorizing that the island has gone back in time to the 1970’s and you think you’ve cracked what’s going on, Daniel Faraday says something that debunks all theories and has us starting all over again… but, it’s all becoming a little clearer now, isn’t it?
